MAPI Café
The MAPI offers a new gastronomic proposal in Ciudad Vieja dedicated to coffee, gastronomy and art, in a museum space specially restored under a project by the studio Lorieto, Pintos, Santellán Arqs.
We invite you to discover MAPI Café, a cultural refuge where you can enjoy a good coffee and special cuisine in an unmatched meeting space. Morning, brunch, lunch and afternoon offerings at MAPI Café are always carefully prepared, delicious and healthy, and the café also hosts special evening and nighttime activities with themed dinners, music, theater, visual arts, conferences, talks, literature, academic debates, business and diplomatic gatherings and much more!

LIBRARY
MAPI Library
Digital Catalog
Digital catalog of the MAPI Library, which specializes in anthropology, archaeology, art and Latin American thought, among other subjects, and is open to the public for consultation on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The MAPI Library also has the Library Treasures section, which holds the books of the Augusto Torres – Elsa Andrada collection, devoted especially to the indigenous groups of North America, and which can be consulted by appointment, writing to biblioteca@mapi.uy and stating the reason for the request.
Locations
Location for filming and photography
The MAPI offers its facilities as a location for filming and photo shoots. It has a variety of spaces, from its stately main staircase to the main hall and rooms not yet restored, which make it possible to recreate different settings.
The MAPI is part of the Locaciones Montevideanas catalog and has hosted, among other productions, shoots by Dress MIX magazine, Revista Galería and Banco Itaú (Brazil). The stand-alone episode “El Vigilante” from the series “Somos”, produced by Canal 10, and the music video of the band Arde Montevideo were also filmed at the MAPI.
Events
Hall rental
The MAPI offers its halls for corporate and institutional events, with all the amenities to welcome your clients and friends. Among other institutions and companies, Johnnie Walker, Antel, Avianca-TACA, Correo Uruguayo, Grupo Santillana and the Embassies of Mexico, Peru and Ecuador have chosen the MAPI for their events.
Parking
Private paid parking service
Monday to Friday from 8 am to 8 pm.
Our parking service is located across from the MAPI building, on 25 de Mayo Street, offering convenience and security for your vehicle. With constant surveillance for 12 hours, your car will be safe at all times. Our large capacity provides room for numerous vehicles. In addition to providing protection, we offer a cleaning service so you can leave with your car spotless.
