Agreement between MAPI and FHCE
The School of Humanities and Education Sciences of the Universidad de la República (UdelaR) and the MAPI signed an agreement whose purpose is “Collaboration between that distinguished institution of higher learning and the MAPI Foundation in order to design and implement joint activities aimed at the development, research, production, promotion, and dissemination of the scientific, knowledge-related, and outreach interests shared by both institutions, such as the organization of seminars, research projects, lectures, internships, workshops, exhibitions, publications, and conferences, among others”.
The aim is to carry out activities linked to culture and education, in order to promote interest in and the dissemination of art, archaeology, anthropology, history, ethnography, museology, linguistics, tourism, and the preservation and conservation of cultural heritage.
Cooperation between the MAPI and students and faculty of the School of Humanities has been under way for quite some time, but this agreement provides a framework for those activities and will strengthen them even further in the future.
The agreement, which bears the signatures of the Rector of the Universidad de la República, Dr. Rodrigo Arocena; the Dean of the School of Humanities and Education Sciences, Lic. Álvaro Rico; the President of the MAPI Foundation, Lic. Thomas Lowy; and the Director of the MAPI, Mag. Facundo de Almeida, will remain in force for five years, renewing automatically for one-year periods.
