Inauguration of the exhibition “Drawings” at MAPI Café

Exhibition by artists Luis Díaz and Arturo Vilaamil, curated by Rafael Pali Lorente.

The exhibition “Drawings” by artists Luis Díaz and Arturo Vilaamil, curated by Rafael Pali Lorente, was inaugurated at MAPI Café, with the presence of the French Ambassador, Jean-Paul Seytre, the Cultural Attaché of Argentina, Minister Melina Strakalaitis, and the Director of Arts and Sciences of the Municipality of Montevideo, Antonio Salgueiro, together with the Director of MAPI, Facundo de Almeida, the curator and the artists. Luis Díaz and Arturo Villaamil are part of this tradition of draftsmen and artists. They are close personal friends, one from La Plata and the other a Celeste-Bretón, one a die-hard fan of Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata and the other a Bolso-Tricolor fan through and through. Both are committed to their circumstances and their times. Both are prominent architects. Both are talented draftsmen, and that is where this story begins. As I write these lines, they have not yet met, and this exhibition opens the dialogue through their work.
