Opening of “Architecture of the Invisible”, by Astrid Barfod

A visual exploration of symbols, traces and inner landscapes.

MAPI is pleased to invite the public to the opening of “Architecture of the Invisible,” a new exhibition by artist Astrid Barfod, whose practice has evolved from the figurative toward a deeply abstract, sensory visual language.

In this series, Barfod builds micro-universes populated by signs, gestures and symbols that evoke lost or imaginary writing systems. Each work proposes a dialogue between the visible and the hidden, between what we sense but cannot always name. The artist combines mixed media —acrylic, inks, oil and other materials— to create territories where order and chaos, silence and chromatic vibration coexist.

The opening is an opportunity to enter this inner map the artist unfolds, inviting viewers to recognize as their own a mystery that is not explained, but felt.
