Performance event “Después de la extinción”
The work begins with a journey through these geographies in the hands of women guides, who walk the audience to the final point, the place where we find the installation of what we at Después de la Extinción call the “Uterus”, a plastic, organic structure of 400 bed sheets joined together. Women guides who move through the city making it their own, inhabiting the streets in an expanded way, in contrast to the fear that this relationship can sometimes take on.
The work ends inside the uterus, in a welcoming space that invites the audience to rest, perceive, and feel sounds, stories, smells, bodies, and sensations that emerge from a dreamlike, spatial atmosphere.
The space chosen for the construction of this uterus was the second-floor gallery of the MAPI.
