In honor of the Charrúa Nation and Indigenous Identity Day, there will be a special screening of the documentary “Udimar Hué”, directed by Nicolás Soto and starring Tania Torterola. This screening promises to offer a profound and moving look at Uruguay’s current situation and the worst water crisis in its history.

The documentary’s synopsis immerses us in a challenging setting, where riverbeds are cracked and people struggle to access drinking water. It is here that she encounters her ancestors and receives a momentous mission: to return the river’s body to its home.

“Udimar Hué” not only offers a powerful narrative about the connection between humanity and nature, but also sheds light on the importance of preserving Indigenous identity and honoring ancestral traditions in times of environmental crisis. The film promises to be an emotional and reflective experience for all viewers.

The screening of the documentary presents a unique opportunity to reflect on the relationship between human beings and their natural environment, as well as to celebrate and honor the rich cultural heritage of the Charrúa Nation and all the indigenous peoples of Uruguay.
