In the framework of the exhibition Jeike al Monte Nativo, by artist Carmela Piñón, MAPI invites you to the talk Our Bond with the Native Forest, Present, Past and Future.

The activity proposes a reflection on the place of the native forest in our landscape, its often overlooked prominence and its fundamental role in the ecological and cultural balance of the territory.

Based on the dialogue between art, territory and practices of care, participants will share experiences related to the protection, regeneration and defense of the native forest, along with perspectives that broaden the understanding of the relationships between human communities and the ecosystems they inhabit.

Participants will include Carmela Piñón, members of AMBÁ and Pampeanas Regenerativas Orientales, together with Eleni Miranda, an undergraduate student of Anthropology at the University of the Republic. The activity will be moderated by Catalina Bunge, curator of the exhibition.

The talk invites us to rethink the links between culture and nature, revisiting knowledge from the past, challenges of the present and possible horizons for the future. It also proposes recognizing the care of the native forest as a collective, political and urgent practice, indispensable for building fairer and more sustainable forms of coexistence.
