On December 3, MAPI opens the exhibition “Nativity, Gazes Through Time,” a show that brings together religious tradition, folk art and contemporary creation in a single journey. The proposal invites visitors to contemplate the symbolic and cultural richness of Nativity scenes from a sensitive, contemporary perspective.

The exhibition presents more than 1,100 polychrome clay figures created by Mexican artisan Felipe Nieva, whose pieces depict close to 50 biblical passages, from Paradise and the foundational stories of the Old Testament to the birth of Jesus. Each scene unfolds a meticulous universe where gesture, color, narrative and devotion come together.

The installation is complemented by a sound work by Francisco Eme, which accompanies the visit and offers an auditory immersion in the episodes depicted. The museographic approach combines image and sound to invite visitors to experience, with all their senses, central moments of both biblical traditions.

“Nativity, Gazes Through Time” thus offers an experience in which sacred art, craftsmanship and contemporary creation enter into dialogue with our present-day sensibility, highlighting a heritage that transcends borders, times and traditions.
