Vacation at MAPI!
As every year, MAPI is back with vacation activities for the whole family and for children from the oldest to the youngest. Don’t hesitate to come and have fun! These are our proposals for the 2024 winter vacation.
Family workshops
In Search of the Past. Archaeology Workshop.
Want to be archaeologists for a day? You can take a leading role in an archaeological excavation, search for objects from the past and investigate in the laboratory just like archaeologists do, working as a family team.
Ages: with children from 4 years old
Duration: 1 hour and a half
Cost: $300 per participant -snack included-
Days and times: Tuesday July 2, Thursday July 4 and Friday July 5, 2024, 11 am and 3 pm.
Masks of Nicaragua Workshop
Did you know that in Nicaragua there are festivals in which masks are worn? While touring MAPI’s exhibition of masks from Honduras, we will learn about some of these festivals and the use of masks in them. Finally, they will create a mask with different materials, inspired by the masks we saw, to take home!
Ages: with children from 4 years old
Duration: 1 hour and a half
Cost: $300 per participant -snack included-

For older kids
Clay Birds. Indigenous ceramics workshop.
Many years ago, along the Uruguay River, there lived groups of people known for creating wonderful clay pieces. Among them were the “bells”, named for their shape, similar to that object. Many of these bells had the shape of birds. In this activity we invite you to learn about the lives of these people and about these unique objects that were part of our past.
Ages: 6 to 12 years old
Duration: 1 hour and a half

Days and times: Monday July 1 and Wednesday July 3, 2024, 11 am and 3 pm.
Threads, wools and colors. Indigenous textiles workshop
Through a tour of the MAPI exhibition, we invite you to learn how threads, wools, their colors and woven fabrics are created, and then together create a piece that you can take home.
Ages: 7 to 12 years old
Duration: 1 hour and a half
Cost: $300 per participant -snack included-

Workshops for the little ones
Through the Worlds of Toto the Glyptodont.
Did you know that dinosaurs were not the only big animals that lived in the past? We invite you to travel to the end of the Ice Age and meet these other wonderful animals that lived at that time and also coexisted with people. Don’t miss it!
Ages: 3 to 6 years old (they may come accompanied by 1 adult)
Duration: 1 hour and a half
