Vacation at MAPI!

For families, young and old

As every year, MAPI is back with vacation activities for the whole family and for children from the oldest to the youngest.

Don’t hesitate to come and have fun! These are our proposals for the winter vacations 2024.

Family workshops In search of the past. Archaeology Workshop. Want to be an archaeologist for a day? You can be the protagonist of an archaeological excavation, search for objects from the past and investigate in the laboratory as archaeologists do, working as a family team.

Ages: with children from 4 years old

Duration: 1 hour and a half

Cost: $300 per participant -includes snack-

Days and times: Tuesday 2, Thursday 4 and Friday 5 July 2024, 11hs and 15hs.

Masks of Nicaragua Workshop

Did you know that in Nicaragua there are parties in which masks are used? While touring MAPI’s exhibition of masks from Honduras, we will learn about some of these festivals and the use of masks in them. Finally they will create a mask with different materials, inspired by the masks we saw, for them to take home!

Ages: with children from 4 years old

Duration: 1 hour and a half

Cost: $300 per participant -includes snack-

Days and times: Thursday, July 4, 2024, 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.

For the biggest: Pájaros de Barro.

Indigenous pottery workshop. Many years ago, on the Uruguay River, there lived groups of people who were characterized by creating wonderful clay pieces. Among these were the “bells”, which were so named because they were similar in shape to this object. Many of these bells were in the shape of birds. In this activity we invite you to learn about the lives of these people and these unique objects that were part of our past.

Ages: 6 to 12 years old

Duration: 1 hour and a half

Cost: $300 per participant -includes snack-

Days and times: Monday July 1 and Wednesday July 3, 2024, 11hs and 15hs.

Yarns, wools and colors. Indigenous textiles workshop

Through a tour of the MAPI exhibition, we invite you to learn how yarns, wools, colors and fabrics are created, and then together create a piece that you can take home.

Ages: 7 to 12 years old

Duration: 1 hour and a half

Cost: $300 per participant -includes snack-

Days and times: Tuesday, July 2, 2024, 11 am and 3 pm.

Workshops for the little ones

Through the Worlds of Toto the Glyptodon.

Did you know that dinosaurs were not the only big animals that lived in the past? We invite you to travel to the end of the Ice Age and meet these other wonderful animals that lived at that time and also lived with people. Don’t miss it!

Ages: 3 to 6 years old (may be accompanied by 1 adult)

Duration: 1 hour and a half

Cost: $300 per participant -includes snack-

Days and times: Monday July 1 and Wednesday July 3, 2024, 11hs and 15hs.
